Anastasia Felker
Anastasia Felker is a graduate student in the Mosimann lab at the Institute of Molecular Life Sciences (IMLS) of the University of Zurich in Switzerland. She is using the zebrafish model to study early cardiac cell fate specification and molecular mechanisms implicated in congenital heart disease. For her projects she uses several technologies including transgenesis, Cre/lox genetics, live imaging, and CRISPR/Cas9 mediated gene knock-down. Anastasia did her Bachelor in Molecular Medicine at the Georg-August University in Göttingen. Germany. Afterwards she continued her education by joining the Biomedicine Masters program at the Karolinska Institue in Sweden. After being part of several projects in developmental and stem cell biology in Edinburgh, New York, and Stockholm, Sweden, she decided to pursue the direction of cardiac cell fates for a PhD project and joined the Molecular Life Sciences PhD program at the University of Zurich in 2013.
