Hideki Sasaki , M.Sc.
Hideki Sasaki is a Principal Algorithm Engineer at Leica Microsystems, where he leads an engineering team to develop algorithms and technologies for the Leica Aivia software products. Hideki holds a master’s degree in Physics from the University of Tokyo, Japan. He has over fifteen years of experience in implementing and optimizing image processing, computer vision, and machine learning algorithms for industrial and bioscience applications. In his recent work, Hideki developed a collection of deep-learning models to be applied to microscopy images for image restoration, super-resolution, virtual staining, object classification, and semantic segmentation. In his position at Nikon Corporate of Japan, Hideki played a key role in developing calibration, measurement, and point-cloud registration algorithms for a novel structured-light 3D scanner. He was granted over thirty patents in the US and Japan for his work. And his hobby is reading state-of-the-art research papers in the fields of computer vision and machine learning.
