Karel Mocaer , PhD
Karel did her Bachelor in molecular and cellular biology between Rennes 1 University in France and Laval University in Québec. She continued with a Master at Rennes 1 University during which she worked on the spindle using various microscopy techniques including expansion microscopy. She then joined Yannick Schwab’s team in 2019 at EMBL Heidelberg to do her PhD. During her PhD, she has been studying the subcellular morphology of microalgae (dinoflagellates) from environmental samples using a combination of TEM screens and targeted vCLEM.
