Sonika Gahlawat , PhD

Before joining Leica Microsystems as a Supervisor in the Advanced Workflow in 2020, Sonika was a Failure Analysis Engineer at Schlumberger, a leading oilfield services provider.  In that role, Sonika led failure investigations of downhole drilling tools, which included fatigue and corrosion of ferrous and non-ferrous alloys, she also assisted in new product development, led investigations with external suppliers and developed standardized procedures for metallography, hardness testing and EDS analysis.  Prior to that, she received her Ph.D. and worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Houston where she was the first author of four publications related to thermoelectric materials.
