Ursula Christian
Ursula Christian, Steinbeis Transfer Centre for Material Development and Material Testing, was trained as Material Tester and Metallographer at the company Kabelmetal, Nürnberg. Right after this education, she became responsible for the metallographic and metallurgical training of the material testers. Besides, she was concerned with metallographic investigations as well as performance of experiences. During this time, she was also appointed for the Audit Committee of the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce. In 1973, she joined the Diehl Company, Nürnberg, where she was Group Leader of the Metallographic Laboratory for 20 years.
In 2001, she became Member of the Scientific Staff at the University of Pforzheim. There, she is concerned with the material scientific examination of laser hard-coats. In context with the Max and Erni Bühler foundation, she also deals with problems concerning the production and processing of copper. She also supports the Steinbeis Transfer Centre for Material Development and Material Testing in the handling of damage analyses.
