Vanessa Augustin

Vanessa Augustin studied Molecular Cell Biology and Neurobiology at the Animal Physiology Department in Kaiserslautern before shifting her focus to the Department of Human Biology and Human Genetics. There, she investigated neuronal development and the intracellular signaling pathways of the amyloid precursor protein involved in Alzheimer’s disease. Though her research, she gained practical skills in patch-clamp technique, behavior testing, sample preparation, and molecular biology, along with extensive experience in widefield and confocal microscopy. After completing her postdoctoral research, she joined Leica in 2023 as an Advanced Workflow Specialist.
