Optical material testing is a non-destructive method. For this, the laboratory uses incident light as well as transmitted light microscopy.
Metallography is one optical material testing method carried out in the laboratory. Beforehand, the samples are prepared in the laboratory – a whole drive shaft for example hardly fits under a microscope – afterwards, they are examined under a microscope, which is connected with a PC.
